Unforgettable taste, world class service.

IN THE BEGINNING

For over 2 decades, the tantalizing aroma of slow-cooked barbecue has wafted through the bustling streets of Smyrna and Cobb County GA, courtesy of Thompson Brothers Barbecue. Established in 2000, this family-owned restaurant quickly gained renown for its mouthwatering Oklahoma-style barbecue. Thompson Brothers wood-fired smoked ribs, chicken, and brisket have captured the hearts of barbecue enthusiasts far and wide.

In 2002, Michael Moran, a student at Clark Atlanta University, began working part-time at Thompson Brothers BBQ. Although just part-time, Michael was exposed to and helped support every aspect of the restaurant’s operations. Once he graduated from CAU, Michael continued at Thompson Brothers, expanding his responsibilities and producing more and more success. As Mike’s role grew, he recognized the untapped potential to provide a high quality catering service, specializing in buffet lunches to offices and groups. Seizing the opportunity with unwavering determination, Michael serviced and grew the catering business, and it quickly flourished under his guidance. Initially fueled by strong relationships with pharmaceutical sales representatives, who regularly sought to delight their customers’ medical staffs with delicious barbecue lunches, Thompson Brothers BBQ quickly became a culinary cornerstone in the medical community.

But it wasn’t just the delectable barbecue that left a lasting impression on Thompson Brothers catering clients. Thompson Brothers BBQ became synonymous with impeccable, responsive, and flexible service. The importance of catering to the unique needs of medical professionals and pharmaceutical representatives, and our commitment to delivering excellence in every aspect has earned us the trust and loyalty of our cherished catering clients.

A NEW ERA

In 2022, the Thompson family decided to retire from the business and sell Thompson Brothers BBQ. With an immense sense of pride and honor, Michael Moran acquired the business and welcomed a new era for the restaurant, rebranded as C&B Barbecue ( “Cousins & Brothers”). The name change symbolizes the seamless fusion of our valued Thompson heritage with Michael’s forward-leaning vision and unwavering dedication to service, all bound by a shared passion for barbecue and the joy of creating memorable dining experiences. New name, same smokehouse barbecue flavor, same quick and courteous service with every plate, platter and buffet.
